Follow these simple steps to create an alert in vSphere!

Open the vSphere Client.

Step 1: Click on the "File" (menu item) in the vSphere Client".

Step 2: Click on "New".

Step 3: Click on "Alarm..."

Step 4: Click in the "Alarm name: (editable text box)" and type in a name.

Step 5: Then click the "Triggers" tab.

Step 6: Now click the "Add” (push button) and choose a trigger type.

Step 7: I have chosen "VM CPU Usage (%)" and then set the condition and warning percentage.

Step 8: Next click on the "Actions” tab and the press the "Add” push button.

Step 9: Click on and choose an action. I have selected "Send a notification email” and then entered my email address.

Step 10: Then I’ve selected "Once" for the reoccurrence.

Step 11: Click OK and you’re done!
